The former Admiral pub on the Rock Ferry waterfront reopened it’s doors after lying neglected for 5 years in June 2012, under it’s original name Refreshment Rooms. It was the original Refreshment Rooms for the cross-Mersey ferry in the 1880s. Over the past 18 months or so we have forged a great reputation for good home cooked food at remarkable value for money prices.

Great Food & Drink

We serve our renowned “pub grub” menu 7 days a week from 12 noon ’til 9pm (last food order) The expression “gastro pub” is much overused these days but we do serve gastro delights in a pub atmosphere with a good selection of Real Ales and Ciders together with a well stocked bar and good wine list available to accompany your food.

The space is light and airy with many original features enhanced by the installation of a chandelier from the Cunard building, light fittings from the Adelphi Hotel and Lewis’s of Liverpool and a solid mahogany bar  top which started life in the science block of Wirral Grammar School. The walls are full of period photos of the area in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Though a little out of the way, you can find us nested along the shoreline with easy access by road. We have a nice sunny beer garden with a kids play area dominated by our sunken pirate ship and great river views across to Liverpool. Walkers, cyclists, families and well behaved dogs are all welcome..
